Rolwalling lies east west valley below Gauri Shanker (7145m) and just south of the Tibetan border. This is an isolated and culturally diverse area, but most treks conclude their visit to Rolwalling by crossing the Tashi Lapcha (5755m) into Khumbu. Tashi laptsa is particularly dangerous because of what mountaineers call objective danger?. These are natural hazards that are difficult to avoid by skill and expertise.
On Tashi Laptsa there is danger from avalanches and also a severe threat caused by frequent rock falls on the western side.Rocks varying in size from pebbles to boulders crash onto the trail without notice at all times of the day. The route through the icefall is also becoming technically more and more difficult due to the movements of the glacier. We most take climbing permit of Ramdung Peak to get trekking permit for this region whether we climb the peak or not. Camping is mandatory in this region. The area offer high crossing pass, Superb mountain view, picturesque village, beautiful Tso Rolpa Lake, impressive display of wild flower, an abundance of wild life and of course friendly local people.
