Our Story

Trekking Team Group is a responsible tour operator focusing on authentic holidays. It is named after the Swiss company Trekking Team AG. In 1991, Trekking Team Switzerland sent Mr Phil Simha, an outdoor specialist, to find a business partner in Nepal. As we decided to work together we chose to use the same title so that it would be easier for our clients to remember the company’s name.

In the beginning, the company was orientated towards Swiss-only clientele from companies such as Nature Frunde Reisen, Jugi Tours and Trekking Team Switzerland. After receiving numerous requests from various clients around the globe, we elected to expand our services worldwide.

With over 30 years experience working in the Himalaya, we have learned the importance of reliable and efficient logistics. Our partners at Trekking Team Switzerland, and friends Phil Simha and Nicole Bianda, have worked tirelessly to provide excellent Swiss quality services for over two decades. With the support from thousands of satisfied customers who have trusted and appreciated our services, we have worked hard to become one of the leading companies in the industry. Their kind words of encouragement, suggestions and ideas have motivated us to further our success and continue to raise the standard of professionalism within our company.

After being audited by the CBI (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands) in 2013, we were among 20 companies selected from over few hundred agencies in Nepal to receive expert coaching and support over the 5 years. In association with the CBI initiative, Trekking Team Group has the privilege of working with, and being trained by some of the best experts in the field from CBI. This has enabled us to develop into one of the most productive and reliable partners in Nepal.

Trekking Team Group is proud to be a partner of TAP (Travelers Against Plastic). We actively educate and encourage travelers to support the TAP mission « Grounded in the ethics of responsible travel, the TAP campaign aims to educate global travelers about the harmful impact of plastic water bottle usage and encourages travelers to be prepared to purify their own drinking water. As a responsible tour/trek operator, we hate plastic bottle so we provide our trekkers Liberty sustainable, recyclable bottle and offer them purify water through SteriPEN.

We also support The Code, the Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism.
